It is a landscape dominated by two features, linked but not reliant upon each other, the River Avon and the Cotswold Hills. From the gently undulating wolds, where charming villages nestle on wooded hillsides, to the market gardens and orchards of the fertile Vale of Evesham, this is a landscape free from large scale urbanisation. In an area that once shaped medieval England, modern Britain merely nods in acquaintance, undramatic it may be but this is quintessentially England. |
